For Quality Hotel Maritim in Haugesund, seamless inspections are all about making routines simple and accessible to everyone. By adopting Runwell across every department, the hotel has unified its documentation and made life easier for its 250 employees.

– The most important thing for me is that inspections are easy to handle, no matter who’s on shift.

– We’ve always done well in inspections, but our documentation was stored all over the place. Now everything is gathered in one place, says Aslak Askeland, General Manager of Quality Hotel Maritim in Haugesund. 

Askeland introduced Runwell throughout the hotel in May 2023, and all 250 employees now use the system.

Askeland reports that the implementation went off without a hitch.

- The best thing about Runwell is that the system is clear and easy to understand. Training often takes a lot of time and drives costs, so systems that are easy to learn are super‑important, he explains. He also appreciates that tasks in Runwell are assigned by job and role, making it easy to delegate. “

Embracing new technology.

Quality Hotel Maritim is at the forefront of adopting technology and is among the first to implement the new tech stack for the Strawberry chain.

- Good technology simplifies work processes, makes you more modern and streamlines operations. It enhances the guest experience. Altogether, it’s a huge boost for the hotel industry, Askeland says.

He believes Runwell fits the hotel’s way of working because it’s built by people from the hospitality sector.

- That’s one of Runwell’s great strengths. If you talk about a bartender, Runwell knows it’s about more than just selling beer. Many systems are designed for other industries and try to adapt to us; they don’t have the same industry knowledge, he concludes.

– Much easier now.

Assistant Head Chef and safety representative Stine Høgset has also noticed that Runwell is built for hospitality.

- Just the fact that there are courses for us in the system makes a big difference. Everything is much easier now, she says.

Moving from paper to tablets has given her and her colleagues a more organised day, even if it takes some getting used to.

- Our goal is to be almost paperless.

Night and day

Runwell has also become widely used at reception. Reception manager Astrid Helen Ove is impressed with how simple it was to implement in her department.

Astrid describes the difference in her workday as night and day. Now she has the important overview and gets a heads‑up when something needs to be done.

- It’s easier to keep track of everything that needs doing, and I can include all the details in the tasks. If someone is unsure or it’s been a while since they performed a routine, everything is written in the task in Runwell, she explains.

Astrid looks forward to more updates and partner integrations that will allow Runwell to be even more tailored to hotel operations.

- Our goal is to be nearly paperless. Nothing is more boring than pen and paper, so Runwell can be our solution going forward. I’m looking forward to what’s next, she says.
