Brittany is a Boston native, who recently just graduated college from The University of Rhode Island. Brittany has been involved in athletics & wellness throughout her entire life. Her diverse experiences ranges from swimming competitively for 15+ years, coaching, lifeguarding, scuba diving, to now using that passion for fitness everyday at her full-time position at a health & wellness company in downtown Boston.
Brittany has been running by choice since she was a young girl. Running for Brittany has always been a peaceful time for emotional release. “Running has always been my safe outlet. It allows me to release any type of emotions I can’t express elsewise, whether or not I am happy or sad, excited or stressed. Running can’t judge me. Instead it understands me and drives me forward with each step I take further.”
Now more than ever Brittany is using running as a heeling process, after losing her older brother to a 7+ year battle to drug addition. She wants to not only help remove the stigma surrounding drug addiction but also additionally help others find heeling in running like she has. “Everyday I run I feel that much closer to my brother again. ” As a new Runwell ambassador she wants to broaden awareness by organizing and partaking in runwell and other organized races and events. Her goal is to complete the Boston Marathon for her brother one day.
